Impact of Extreme Heat on Aviation
With summer upon us, record breaking heat waves has impacted the aviation operations. Throughout this summer, several regions across the globe experienced an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures reaching new highs. Major airports in affected areas witnessed the brutal consequences of this extreme heat, ranging from reduced aircraft performance to flight cancellations and delays. The reason I choose this event is because extreme heat is a dangerous weather conditions, that we rarely associate with adverse aviation effects, unlike storms or snow. This event highlights the urgent need to adapt to the changing climate patterns that are influencing flight safety and operations. As temperatures soar, the impact of heat on aviation operations becomes evident, with reduced aircraft performance and thinner air presenting significant challenges. As the temperature climbs, air density decreases, resulting in the air becoming thinner. For aircraft, this equals to reduced lift, maki
